There is such a thing as secular totalitarianism.
It's not a binary situation; Radical Islam = not good. Secular = good.
The danger is removal of free speech and the right of the public to information.
The removal of instruments of free speech and a free media is a danger in any society, and anyone who calls for the ABC to be raided (someone earlier did that) doesn't understand the elements of democracy. JIMO.
Oh and before you claim that I must think radical Islam = good, think again.
My point is that just because a State is secular doesn't mean it is democratic, nor free.
