"look- i could not give a hoot about your egotistical problems. i asked you your opinion as to why CTX has tanked by 10% prior ex divvy. you seem to evade the issue. a lot of your unfortunate followers deserve a rational response."
I like to think - in my inimitable egotistical manner - that what I'm pretty darn good at is analysing businesses, the strategies employed by their management, and the financial performance of those businesses.
But what I'm not so good at is analysing the hourly/daily/weekly ebbs and flows of share prices. Actually, I'm woeful at it.
(And I strongly suspect that my "unfortunate followers" are fully aware of this severe limitation of mine.)
But if you insist that I proffer an opinion as to why the share price has fallen then I'd say that its because ....uh... there have been ...er ...
.... MORE SELLERS THAN BUYERS. (?)
(Admittedly, this is not an original thought of mine; I have merely inferred it from its corollary, namely that when there are more BUYERS than SELLERS, the price of a stock goes up.)

..
.
Of course, the next logical question is why there have been more buyers than sellers, and I do - uncharacteristically - have an opinion about that, but I won't be so presumptuous to think that you will want chapter and verse of the detail. However, if you do, I'll wait for you to ask for it tomorrow evening - as is your custom - once you've returned from your daily slog at the office, after your 8.5 hours of working for the man.
But, in the interim, here's a hint for you to mull over during your lunch break tomorrow: There's been a structured, off-market buyback announced, which could have something to do with it.
(PS. I know I have asked you this before, but I don't recall any response: You do of course know how the value transfer mechanisms work with these sorts of off-market buybacks thingy-me-bobs, right?)
..
Until tomorrow evening, following your office shift.
