I think you are missing the fact that Triton listed the following:

REQUEST FOR TRADING HALT Triton Minerals Ltd (ASX: TON) (Triton or the Company) hereby requests a trading halt from the ASX pending an announcement regarding a strategic update. Triton requests the trading halt to commencement immediately and continue until ceased by the release of an announcement, in any case no later than the commencement of trading on Tuesday, 1 March 2016. Triton is not aware of any reason why the trading halt should not be granted. Triton is not aware of any other information necessary to inform the market about the trading halt.

IMO this TH was called to decide if a VA should be engaged. I am sure they had the knowledge that they were in DS.
I would assume that the "voluntary" (FOC) administrator had offered some guidance.
Ooops! we said Strategic update......Give them an operational update and then we will go in VA. Whilst this is going $2 mil in shares is being off loaded by whom.
All in my opinion only....What do i know as i invested in TON.
