Pugsley100, to Tony Abbott that cheering would have been akin to the crowd in a boxing ring after he'd gone 30 seconds with Muhammed Ali - so politically punch drunk he thinks he still has a chance of being resurrected.
IMO Abbott's main character trait is that of a thrashing machine; he just keeps on lashing out and coming back for more punishment. He's going to find that the 4th Estate except for Murdoch mouthpieces is up to the challenge!
That's why Malcolm Turnbull's decision to back off terminating his legacy was as ill-conceived as that of Julia Gillard with Kevin Rudd - Abbott actually appears to believe what Turnbull has said about him when in reality Turnbull challenged for the leadership because no-one has ever been a worse PM!
