Corporate child care providers can have a slight advantage for additional support with compliance, because of the staff structure of nominated supervisor, area manager and regional manager. However, some of the breaches mentioned in the article are serious breaches and issues like lack of supervision endangering the safety of children are the responsibility of the centre staff and if procedures are not followed, then those centres deserve the fines imposed upon them. Interestingly, on the list, is a G8 managed centre for breaches in 2012 and actioned in 2013. In fairness to G8 though, they may not have been managing the mentioned centre at that time.
Early childhood in WA is keeping the journalists busy this week. Some other press I am following with interest is the demand for early childhood educational facilities in Asia, particularly in Singapore. Wondering why, after purchasing Cherie Hearts in Singapore in 2010 that G8 have never sought further acquisitions in Asia.
