Not saying this is what it is, and I hope it is not, but an announcement "regarding an acquisition of a material asset" could be an announcement saying the conditions precedent to Completion of the previously announced acquisition have not been met and the deal has fallen over. MPJ's previous announcement only said its due diligence had been completed, it didn't say the agreement was now unconditional (other than shareholder approval). It is possible the deal has now fallen over, and that is what the announcement relates to...
