Your getting your definitions wrong. That is a marketing mix (Price, Place, Product, Promotion) but that itself cannot exclude two companies from being competition from one another. That is, the two products are different, differently priced, promoted differently but despite all of this, they are competing in the same industry. If A2 or BAL was to stop manufacturing for some reason, mothers will switch to either companies - that is competition, competing in the same industry. In all honestly, the percentage of mothers who shop A2 simply because their children cannot drink another other formula, I would say is relatively small.
Competition and the companies product mix are two completely different economic theories.
