Angola: Lucapa Diamond continues to make diamond discoveries in Lulo

(Ecofin Service) - Lucapa Diamond Australian company has recovered on its mining area E46 at Lulo, eight special diamonds the most important is a gem of 68.1 carats. The other seven diamonds are precious stones mixtures and "boart" (low quality diamonds) weighing, in order of size, 30.5 carats; 25.3 carats; 14.8 carats; 13.8 carats; 12.9 carats; 12.3 carats and 11.9 carats.

E46 is the fourth mining block area to Lulo blocks with 6, 8, 31. It is situated 10 kilometers upstream of the blocks 6 and 8. Before the new digs, the largest diamond was recovered there was a 6.9 carat stone in 2013.

"The potential of the alluvial terrace E46 was highlighted in the initial bulk sampling and declared virgin resource, according to the JORC Code in December 2015. Our main objective right now is to begin drilling on priority targets defined by our systematic geophysical programs on the L259 target and surrounding areas to locate the primary source or sources exceptional alluvial diamonds recovered from the mining blocks 6 and 8 " , commented the CEO of Lucapa, Stephen Wetherall

The Lulo diamond concession project covers a 3,000 km2 in the province of Lunda Norte, located 630 kilometers east of Luanda. Lucapa holds for this project, a 35-year operating license since 2014
