Yes tax avoidance is everywhere and Liberal and Labor governments have refused to fix it.
Only when their electorates get angry enough is there going to be any serious attempt made to reel avoidance in.
Trusts should go or at least only be allowed in very special circumstances.
IMO these revelations of high level avoidance by the very wealthy will be the thing that makes the population demand our pollies do something.
All the same income tax has many ways of being avoided and may not be the best sort of tax to have.
As cash money goes out of fashion and all transactions become electronic a small flat tax on all money movement might be the best way to tax everyone fairly. Give it another twenty years and that's what we might see.
