Why is it that middle Australia has to be thankful? They have, as you say, paid for this more than most. Shouldn't the big corporations and bludgers be more thankful that we have provided them these services and infrastructure?
I think most middle's just want a fair system. I too pay a fair swag of tax, unfortunately my income is clearly not high enough to avoid tax like the upper echelon and multi corps.
Quite a contentious subject by where not many will agree, but I think it comes down to fairness. Our only solution to our problems in this country is to find more ways to tax and avoid the tough decisions/solutions. Not the answer and not sustainable imo.
