Nambo1, Of course they would take thee price up to a classic TA sell signal, how else do you shake the tree?
The programs that are used these days in the bots are smart enough to take stocks to levels that will push peoples buttons. As soon as they start dropping it again, by selling to themselves, then it flushes out a few TA traders that think they have nailed this one. If it's in the hundreds of thousands of shares then they keep dropping it just a bit to keep absorbing shares at a slightly lower price.
Notice how you can't buy a million shares as they are not silly enough to put up that many for sale anywhere near the current action. We have the small holders vs the big boys with all their computing power to try and buy as many shares as possible off us.

Thinking that TA is working is just one trap at this point.
