I have a to do list app that has 12 million impressions per month.
That is more impressions than 90% of apps on Android app store.
I work with a Google adsense manager here in sydney and am on a better tier for my adsense.
I have a few other hobbyist apps that serve various purposes for women.

Any company serious about the security will probably host their own server.
There are tons of open source apps available for what BUD is trying to do.
You will not see them going to a third party because SDK's are being charged on number of api calls.

I have used urban airship , parse , onesignal , AWS , appmobi and a few others.
Let me tell you anything Buddy builds to take on parse customers will be light years behind what AWS already offers. You cannot beat AWS on price either nor on security.

It seems that BUD has lost direction and are now desperately trying to venture into IOT space to pick up customers along the way to serve the AU NZ market.

Perhaps better to clarify from the company what is the exact nature of this "collaboration" ?
