    Etrade seems to provide many users much grief. If you are looking for an alternative, I'm with CMC and it's pretty reliable with low brokerage. Can only remember one outage in last 18 mths, and I think that was only during pre-market as far as I can recall. Another that seems to be favourable on HC is FP markets but I have no experience with it. One criticism of CMC is their pro platform (standard is OK). Pro platform is currently free to access but a bit buggie, just out of beta really.
