A nation killing project, more likely. A vastly underutilised white elephant, like the recent installations and building of desalination plants, water recycling networks, light rail on the Gold Coast and no doubt many others. If we want to get to Sydney from Brisbane quickly, we fly for around $70 or $80 each. The train will never be that cheap. Or, if we want to save money, it's $50 fuel for the car which takes five of us. $10 each. Takes twice as long as the train would, but then we have a car to get around in when we get there.
