Corey Bernardi is the man. He is a natural leader, an eloquent speaker, a quick thinker, in possession of a very agreeable manner and not prone to irascibility in interviews even when engaged by the left-green partisans at the ABC. Bernardi says on a range of topics what most of the electorate across the party spectrum thinks. He is out of favour with the tut-tutting political class exemplified by people like Julie Bishop of course and the left-green-biased press like to report him with a more critical eye than they would ever apply to their own. Despite these impediments, Bernardi persists cheerfully in public, in Parliament and in interviews holding and expressing the very same conservative views he is known for and which I say again are the views of then majority. Bernardi would be a superb leader of the Liberal Party and would draw so many disenfranchised old Labor people ( as opposed to minority - obsession hijacked New Labor types ) as well.
