If something is uneconomical it should be done, there is no point in having a system which keeps going because of hand outs. If you have a business in the city you can also work from dawn to dusk, but if it fails you don't get bailed out.
If its so economical to service these area competition can go and do it, otherwise its not going to happen. Do you expect a fibre network rollout in the middle of nowhere as well?
Should antartica also have a broadband internet network as well?
