    In Fitzimmons defence he did say "who gets the progressive swing voters in the middle". In a tight election contest this premise will stand true.

    He wasn't discussing what is important to all voters.

    Dyed in the wool labour voters will still vote labour and dyed in the wool Liberal voters will still vote liberal.

    He was simply saying in his opinion to get the progressive middle, the swing voters, that more attention would need to be devoted to those issues.

    In regard to managing the economy neither party has distinguished itself with economic policy.
