The proof of concept announcement made today was to outline that we had completed a structure from a 3D CAD file utilising end-to-end technology that is unique to the Hadrian machine. The size of the structure is not important to us at this stage as we are undertaking all building activity inside our facility. We are limited to the size due to the space available to us, however whether the room is 2m long or 5 m long does not alter the fact that it has 4 corners, a window and door opening and space for lintel placement. This is exactly what we were aiming to do. The complete structure was built using a construction adhesive that we are trialling and may pursue with the manufacturer for full certification. It is common when using big blocks in construction, which we are intending to do with the commercial machine, to leave the windows and door openings that way and the frames are fitted as two halves afterwards. This was intentional. As these are demonstration structures we do not yet need independent inspections, but will do this with the 109 program which starts in June, and do not see any difficulty in meeting those requirements. We are the first company in the world to do this, and it is a significant milestone on our development path. It is important to understand that the 105 prototype is very limited to what it can do from a speed and structure size perspective, and all of this is addressed with the commercial machine. The 3D printing world, particularly in construction is very new space for all those developing systems and machines to do this kind of work. We do not expect to get everything right the first time, but are determined to succeed in this very exciting arena. Thanks for your email and again sorry for your disappointment.
