I think you will find that they have already shorted the shares higher up and the shares issued just cover off the short. Lind are not interested holding shares just like banks don't buy properties they lend against them. The reason that this type of funding has the nick name 'Death Spiral', is because the lender always gets shares at a discount to the market price and use those shares to cover their shorts. With a high valuation and high overheads the stock only looks like heading one way, unless they can get a real cornerstone investor to invest and hold. There has been a shift in the last few days away from companies that are not generating profits. Amazon, Alphabet and Facebook went up whilst Twitter fell.
