    Hi Lappy
Regardless of how friendly any country may be, Australia is a sovereign nation and has a right to protect that sovereignty in making whatever decision that is necessary to protect the integrity of the country, if China is a friend they will not expect otherwise.

The amount of agricultural land that is owned by foreign people and foreign governments is far too much and at some stage it has to stop.
Australia already imports far too much food when we should be supplying the world, we won't be improving this situation if we sell all our land and China has already stated that they want to grow produce for, not Australia but China.

Having said that IMHO Turnbull knocked it back for one reason and that is the forthcoming election, he is not a nation builder regardless of all the speeches he just want to be prime minister that's as far as his aspirations appear to go, being a nation builder is too hard

Also I did a trawl of English speaking Asian newspapers and guess what NO MENTION of any upset

All the hype is from the Labor held media
