Would you have joined them Whereu?
A very good question, MrGordon.
No, I would not have condemned Jesus for calling himself the Son of God. Would you have done so given that you believe that Watchtower disbelieves the bible by denying this, and claiming that Jesus was an archangel.
The religious authorities at the time of Jesus's death had no doubt that he claimed to be God's Son.
John 19:7 New International Version (NIV)
7 The Jewish leaders insisted, “We have a law, and according to that law he must die, because he claimed to be the Son of God.”
Jesus claimed to be the Son of God.
John 10:36-37 English Standard Version (ESV)
36 do you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’? 37 If I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me;
And for good reason. His Father (God/Yahweh/Jehovah) called Jesus his Son.
Mark 1:11 New International Version (NIV)
11 And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”
Characters in the bible called him the Son of God; Jesus did not correct them.
John 1:49-50 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
49 Nathanael answered Him, “Rabbi, You are the Son of God; You are theKing of Israel.” 50 Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these.”
There are many more examples.
No, I do not condemn Jehovah's Witnesses to death for making God/Yahweh/Jehovah and Jesus out to be a liars.
Mr Gordon, do you also condemn Jesus for blasphemy for claiming to be the Son of God and not just an archangel?
MrGodon are you going to demonstrate that you are as good at answering questions as you at asking them?
