hardman a second mim Ted E & Alan B are business creators. They built Hardman by creating excitement - always reporting the facts - but always taking up the possibilities. They had a good strtategy at a time when oil prices were low - and they were lucky. Hardman was exciting then - albeit a bit hiary sometimes.
Simon is an oil company bureaurocrat, used to big company politics - probably very more uncomfortable with risk and ambiguity than Ted or Alan.
Added to that Hardman's new chairman is an ex Woodside bean counter.
They will be a safe pair of hands leading Hardman - but I suspect Hardman is more likely a takeover target - as they don't seem to have the guts to assert the value they (i hope) believe that the company has. Cautious management, especially in a cautious Australian Investment market - is a sure recipe for a takeover.
Hardman could be a second MIM.
Get out there guys, let everyone know what the facts are. Discuss the risks. Also discuss the upside.
