Try and keep single orders under $100k as over this and CommSec must put it through to a management team which takes a min or two and can be too late. Today was fairly quite as I was drip feeding a 1.5mil parcel out to FGR on low volume. That stock will bunt but didn't move enough for my liking. On small caps, you can move the price when the volume and momentum is there, has taken me a while to get into the swing of things but starting to get there. Destroyed NOR last week with a bunch of 2 mil orders sub 5c, every pip was a couple k.
Scary trades are when you hold 10-20 mil, every pip is $10-20k; very yuck when that turns sour. XTV is killing me, but a re-rate and could be looking at 6 figures by end of week; so i will take the punt ;-)
