With our Westminster system there are only two options if the government or the politicians act against the will of the people and they are to wait for the next election and hope that you have a choice of someone who may be better or start a war
That is what is available now because insidiously the politicians have been systematically building a wall around themselves to make themselves safe from any attack from the public, they have passed legislation to the point that the public have very little ability to even complain about a politician, demonstrations have been slowly made illegal, even demonstrating and going to the courts to redress decisions are penalized so heavily that they are out of the question for the individual
Many countries overseas have been forced by the public to introduce The Recall Election system whereby the public have a legitimate and simple process to recall their politician for the purpose of explaining their actions and if the explanation is not good enough they can force a by election for a better representative, IE a more honest person to stand for the seat
