re shares chaepest in 15 yrs
the share price generally preceeds the earning of a company ... its cause we normally look at what currancy and commodity prices are doing now and then the accountants get out the ancient history 6 months later.
I agree we are seriously cheap
the shares in the us recovered after drop and we didn't
can anyone care to remember the pe of bhp in 98 ... memory was it was around 45.0 if we had that now ... the share price would be ?? $120ish
the other view is that on pe ratios bhp has never been cheaper
anyone want a guess on next years earnings ?
my guess $14.8 bill
next yrs pe ratio ? 7.5 ... on todays price (after buybacks)
think we could be up monday to $28.15
