NFC or Near Field Communication is a communication protocol that enables two devices to establish communication when brought in to close proximity (a tap).
I saw someone asking whether dependency on NFC a weakness?
If you asked this 3 or 4 years ago, most people would have said Yes. But times have changed.
I remember Samsung started integrating NFC to their smart phones back in 2013. In 2011, Google I/O demonstrated NFC applicability through a game and practical applications like sharing contacts through a tap of phones. Even Apple decided to bring in NFC in to iphone in 2014 to facilitate Apple Pay. They have also enabled it in Apple Watch since then.
If you think of it, millions of devices are already NFC enabled. Both Android and ios have backed NFC. In fact it has become a core feature.
