The company only pays attention to the 3 big boys that own 49% of the company. The only CR in recent living memory that small shareholders got access to, is the one that was done at a share price 21% higher than today's price. The Big 3 took up placement stock and also picked up the shortfall from the Mums & Dads that did not take up their entitlements. This has delivered them "control" of the narrative
and input into the nature of the future direction of the business. One way at looking at this is to say "They were happy to pay a "control" premium (8c) to establish their position.
Throw Glencore (8%) into the equation and suddenly 57% of the company sits with 4 entities.
This is not a criticism, it is an observation and those that invest in AVB from this point forward would be fully aware of this operational reality. It is what it is.
But the AGM will be the only opportunity where suggestions/criticisms/questions can be tabled. So - if you hold shares, you know already that the resolutions will get carried and that this part of the meeting will be done & dusted quickly, to be followed by the overview of the operation.
Only once that is finished will come the questions from the floor and so you might as well be vocal about grievances 'cos they are then going to ignore you for another 12 months. There is little point (in my opinion) running off to little huddles to have fire side "off the record" chats with management once the formalities are over. You are better off putting your questions to the floor so others know what you are thinking and have opportunity to support you/discuss further and add to the official dialogue of the meeting.
