I recall seeing a stand up comic on TV doing a funny little parody of Steve Irwin a while back, part of which went
    something like this :

Comic: Grabs microphone stand and starts prodding at an imagined snake on the ground (laughter)
Comic (in Steve Irwin voice): "Crikey - he's a grumpy little feller today " (much laughter)
Comic: (turns to auidence and in his own voice says) "Well of course he's grumpy - being poked with
a stick is the major cause of grumpiness in snakes" (much laughter)

At the end of the day Steve Irwin's heart may have been in the right place and he has been described as a supporter of conservation
and for that credit is due.

But let's face it, Irwin had a global TV audience to satisfy and entertain, and while his show may
have been informative and pro conservation - at the end of the day he did spent a fair bit of time making
wildlife just a little bit more grumpy.

    That's showbiz. :)
