I suspect it was the people of your current age, who had these ungenerous opinions of immigration in the 50's and 60's.
The more things change the more they stay the same.
They had an excuse, but you have lived through this period of substantial immigration and seen the benefits, but perpetuate this ignorance, and use the same arguments they used.
Have you learnt nothing since then?
