    They don't actually give you the rules; I quoted the rules from CASA. And note, from your link:

    "In general, don’t think you can ignore the rules and get away with it. As one Queensland drone operatorfound out, posting video online that showed rules being broken resulted in a hefty $850 fine. CASA has been scouring YouTube for Aussie drone pilots breaking the rules in their aerial videos and issuing fines accordingly."

    Yeah, but you conveniently leave out the next paragraph:

    "Autonomous flight is prohibited under the amendments. CASA is still developing suitable regulations for autonomous flight. However, there is scope for CASA to approve autonomous flight on a case-by-case basis.
    These changes do not take effect until 29 September 2016, when a full range of forms, guidance and notification system will be available. We'll be releasing more about these processes over the coming months."

    Nobody is controlling the drone. You let it go, and it whizzes around taking photos, until somehow you disable the anti-collision system and it returns to you accurately enough that you can grab it out of the air, but far enough away from your face (and anyone else around you) that they don't get hit.
