I've seen this way of valuing WP before but you really can't value it the same way, things like facebook, instagram, pinterest and twitter have huge amounts of data on their user, that they can then use to target their advertisements, they know your likes, interest, age, ect. Whatsapp have a huge amount of users and is fast becoming the go to app for messaging, most people I know use that more than SMS nowadays. don't think WP has either at the moment so not a true way of valuing it
