I have never bothered with MENSA - I have always considered it to be the epitome of wanton hubris.

I have spent most of my available time obtaining a B. Ec, M Ec and a recent Juris Doctor (Law). Although, that is no certain indicator of success. I have seen many people with many leters after their names who lack some basic skills. Please don't respond by explaining the virtues of, 'common sense'. I think common sense is mostly more common than sensible.

I find the market and HC to be an enjoyable outlet from my day to day occupation. The psychology of some of the posters is interesting, to say the least.

What I have noticed is that these threads tend to run to an easily recognisable and sadly, very predictable script.

Most threads have a "knowledgeable" patriarch (possibly matriarch but females are much better at managing emotions) who is the guardian of the "faith". This person is robustly and, at times, fiercely defended by a cadre of loyal followers. Non- believers are often subjected to ridicule because they question the wisdom of the leader and or the basic beliefs and values of the "club". It is not too hard to see how North Korea is what it is!

Anyway, I am now going to go indulge the other passion of mine (AFL) and sign off for the evening.

In all sincerity - I hope no poster lost too much today. It is only a loss when you crystallise it by selling. However, make sure you know when to pull the trigger. Don't watch your cash just disappear.

People hang on to poor investments and relationships far longer than they should. This can cause disproportionate and unnecessary unhappiness.
