It's fair to say that Devondale and Blackmores IF has gained very little traction. I wonder how long supermarkets will continue to give these brands so much shelf space before giving up on them.
A couple of months ago the supply manager with one of Australia's biggest pharmacy chains said the Blackmores infant formula had been an "abject failure" with consumers and that there were only three brands dominating the market - Aptamil, A2 and Bellamy's. Nothing appears to have changed.
Those that said IF had a low economic moat and it was easy for newcomers to take market share are perhaps starting to realise that it's not quite as easy as that. As Bellamy's noted in their presentation the other day:
