    Using your cost per household,
$3,000 per household over 40 years = $6.25 per month.

There is a $17b difference in the two versions of NBN.

Cost difference is spread over many years.
    $17b over 10 years = $1.7b per year.
    $17b over 20 years = $850m per year.
    $17b over 30 years = $570m per year.

The NBN was set up as a user pay system, exactly the same as toll roads. The more you use it, the more you pay.

Looks like the user pays quite a bit.

    Telstra NBN plans
    Basic $75 per month = $4,500 over 5 years
    Mid $95 per month = $5,700 over 5 years
    Large $115 per month = $6,900 over 5 years
