Why I suspect it is something else is that was know some time ago. You would go into a halt late Friday or after close and announce on Monday before market opens. I suspect that options aspect will also now be covered on Friday's announcement in addition to the something else that is intruiging here - that something else I think is a strategic investor coming on board. If it is options plus a CR then the May 2 announcement has misleading information in it. All IMO
