It's a really badly written sentence, but it doesn't at all seem to be suggesting that they took selfies with the Roam-e. Below is what they seem to be trying to say:

The fact that they end with a sentence about new inventions solidifies that they are talking about the invention of the Roam-e in the first instance. The word flying further confuses the sentence, but I can see why they put it there as the Roam-e flies, so it's a relevant play on words - 'flying to new heights' instead of just 'to new heights'. Taking something to new heights obviously being an expression that means to make better.
