Exactly I'm glad we agree that depending on the timeframe you select the gain or loss can vary greatly, and there's no point looking at a gain or loss over a week or 2 where there's been no significant price catalyst/news.
Picking a peak fuelled by hype (such as 2 years ago) or a trough fuelled by fear (subsequent sub-hype sell off) and inferring % gains and losses is not that helpful from a long term viewpoint IMO. As a long term holder my mathematical point of view is that an exponential line of best fit over a greater range is a better statistical analysis of indicative movement, whilst not without error due to outliers and price catalysts. The indication is that the price has risen gradually over the last few years and levelled off awaiting the next catalyst - I think most people would see the finance decision as this next driver which may see the price go up or down. Until then these daily fluctuations are just noise unless you are trading this stock? Just my thoughts/rambling, make up your own mind. Have a nice weekend.
