I had a comversation with the ceo of bradken engineering in Newcastle during the last agm, and asked him about India coming online, and becoming the next China. He told me that India would never be another China, mainly because India is a democracy and China is a dictatorship, meaning to bring its residents out of abject poverty would involve a whole government decision to do so and to spend up big as China has. India with its cheaper labour and the ability of western countries willing to take advantage of its workers may build huge factories and be a smaller China. Looking at the numbers in the world steel figures 2016, it seems it may be happening, but very slowly...
I would be interested to hear anyone else's take on this..
