ill also point out - to both bulls and bears - sharemarkets and gold prices dont have a strong negative correlation historically

same as oil and gold not having a strong positive correlation all the time. oil and gold really only perform similarly in high inflation or moderate growth no inflation periods

these are both myths put about by journalists and retails brokers who dont understand the underlying drivers - and because a lot of people cant differrentiate between whats a real move and whats a USD move

stock market fall = gold sustained rise only when the US stock market is falling because of weak economic outlook (as now)

classic market falls like 1987 are purely equity pricing related - has no impact on gold outlook pro or con

what i believe we are seeing now is both - its a pricing correction + economic weakening

hence why falls are likely to be much steeper - hence the sub 14000 DOW expectation i have by mid year

I think there's strong resistance in 12500 where buying US would be safe
