I'm no chemist but my understanding of the Periodic Table suggests that if Lithium was freely lieing around in pure form it would, well, not be lieing around - because it would float away into the atmosphere, being lighter than air. Yes, strange phenomena for a metal, but true. So 'tis fortunate for us, particularly PLS holders, that it does only exist as a compound in rocks (particularly ours) etc.
I wonder how many other fabulous resources have simply floated away, never to be discovered? Apart from the good sense of some posters that is.
