The chinese aren't losing interest in resources, making several new investments in past days, just as some western fundies are declaring the boom to be over (and valuations plunging). BHP has huge strategic importance in several markets and I bet the chinese would love to own a piece of it too.
You really have to believe in global economic catastrophe to sell it down from here.
