If someone wanted them they could have bought them. If both orders were between the same broker there may be a courtesy call to check if the order is genuine, but if it is another broker they would clear the whole lot.
Just to be the devils advocate here, another explanation could be a broker, having been led to believe that there is a serious accumulator out there but not sure who it is, wants to sell reasonably quickly for a client but does not want to hammer the price so they put a flag up pointing out that there is a big chunk of shares available if wanted. I doubt they would be there in the morning but there may be a big cross if someone is interested.
