The median line /AP pitchfork is a forward indicator, whereas, nearly all other indicators are lagging indicators, and at the same time can, and do, contradict each other.
The weakness,and strength,with the median line /AP pitchfork is that is subjective and open to individual interpretation. It works for me.
As for the 'dark art' of t/a, I will post a monthly chart (for simplicity) on EDE as an example ( there are many others).
