The thing is, the people who do control the market, they're no smarter than anyone else. They just have the cash backing to ensure they always win. Just like a casino, the house always win because they have more money than the little guy. The people doing the trading aren't even the people with the money, they use other people's money. Even if the little guy gets lucky now and then, they'll get you in the end. The market is controlled by supply and demand and they can create it as they feel fit. It's as simple as that.
