Hi Guys, this is pretty long, but as short as I could make it. Anybody that rents out a property, should have a look from a 'renters'
point of view, and an insight into what you pay your property managers for, and what they actually do to earn that money.
@67shelby Long winded, but I could go on for hours as to the conduct of R/E agencies.
Just her attitude with my neighbour, that lives in the other half of the duplex, put me off her.
If it was maintenance stuff, I'd expect her top take a photo, and the owner is next door fairly often in any case.
But they are not allowed to take photos of any of your personal possessions, and even though I have nothing to hide,
she does not need to take, nor is she allowed to take, any pics that show my stuff. (This info from web sites, and verbally from consumer protection).
Owner knows all issues with this duplex, but it wasn't so much about the photos, as the way she conducted her self.
It was wet and freezing, and whilst I was tying Dooley up, she bowled into the house, BEFORE I said come in.
If I wasn't there, they can use their key etc. but I don't care who it is, NOBODY walks in, while I'm home,
until I say, "come in please". As for photos for maintenance, guy next door, (same R/E, same owner) on his
initial property inspection, it says the clothes line is in good condition, and working order.
A fold down one, that even I wouldn't be able to resurrect, and has still NOT been replaced, and he has lived
there 2 months before I moved in, so 10 months so far. Likewise with his 'solar power', one of the reasons he took the place,
was inoperable for the first 6 months. Can't remember why. No inverter maybe? My power bill $50, his $170 roughly.
Owner does not need to see pics of the house, unless it is targeting specific maint. areas.
The way she spoke to the guy next door, I would have told her to leave, but all I said was, no pics.
When I talked to her boss, to find out what is going on, still haven't received a follow up reply.
She stormed off, without a word, but told the Senior P.M. that she felt intimidated???
Just for interests sake, do you get the same pics every 3 months, or only as an issue arises?
R/E agencies need to treat renters with a LOT more courtesy and respect, as if it wasn't for us,
Property Managers wouldn't have a job, nor would people with an investment property,
have anyone to "pay" for their investments.
Just got an email this morning from OAIC, regarding the last place I was in.
Been to court twice, won twice, and will now be taking them to court for a third time,
to recoup moving expenses. First one was to 'break lease' 8 months early, with no expense to me,
whether it got rented out or not. Winner! P.M. was rude, incompetent and a slanderer and liar.
Taken 'till today, 8 months, to get a half hearted response back to the OAIC.
Having to move out of the first place, saw me in Hospital 1 1/2 hours after returning the keys,
and 5 subsequent times in short succession, (my knees). Moving is NOT good for me.
* The P.M. that rented this place to me, didn't even do a final inspection when the previous renters moved out.
Just printed an out dated one, off the computer. Now that they've upset me, will inform the owner,
of the way his money is being spent, the next time I see him next door.
