In support of that I would like to chuck in the results of some reading I've been doing - going back to the months before I bought in to RYG in Feb this year.
I believe that our partnership with Intel is much stronger than some here realise.
That is, I am convinced that the announcement of 13 Nov 2015 that "Xped and leading chip manufacturer collaborate on cutting Edge IoT solutions" referred to Intel.
There was a lot of unresolved debate on the threads about who it was. Some thought Intel but many other possibilities were thrown around.
I believe it was Intel, because just 6 months before, on 20 April, the following was announced:
"SPRING Singapore and Intel Singapore have announced a joint initiative to support startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) interested in developing products and services in the Internet-of-Things (IoT) and Wearable segments.
The goal of the initiative is to establish an ecosystem of Singapore companies capable of developing world-class IoT and wearable products and services, based on Intel technology.
The initiative is being managed under Spring's Partnerships for Capability Transformation (PACT) programme, of which Intel is a supporting member"
This is the very initiative that Xped's collaboration with the "leading chip manufacturer" was supported under.
So why would any other chippie collaborate with Xped based on Intel technology".
Clearly, would not make sense...right? Well, just to make sure, I googled for evidence of any partnership between PACT and other chippies and for any on-going relationship between Intel and other PACT start-ups, as per:
"The line-up of companies included technology company T-Ware, IoT company NexTan, green and health-tech specialists Newton Circus Connected Health, and energy software and hardware companies Intraix and Gridcomm”
"Nine Singapore businesses and startups are currently involved, but SPRING and Intel are actively looking for more companies to be part of both the PACT program and this initiative, according to Ramachandran"
Well, it is clear that RYG/XPE was added to the list some time between April and November 2015.
And we know from the 13 Nov 2015 RYG announcement that Xped was chosen by the "leading chip manufacturer" to collaborate on "cutting edge IoT solutions". We also know, from the announcement, that:
1. The collaboration was arranged under the Singapore‐based Partnerships for Capability Transformation (PACT) program (the IoT component of which was an Intel initiative), and
2. Xped were the only technology party identified by the chip manufacturer from a number of potential candidates to form a collaboration (i.e. the companies named above).
The hypothesis that the "leading chip manufacturer" is Intel is also supported by:
1. All the subsequent announcements re porting ADRC to Intel's IoT Gateways, demos to Intel engineers and referral to Home Automation section, and
2. The words in the announcement of 9 June that "Xped wishes to acknowledge the great support Intel® have provided with this project and the Company is excited with the opportunity of working with a world leading technology company who understands the changing IoT landscape and continues to push innovation"
The key important thing to me is that Intel sought out Xped - not the other way around. That is, it was not Xped knocking on the Intel door to ask them to check out their wares. It was Intel choosing Xped - and no others - to be their collaborative partner under their Partnerships for Capability Transformation (PACT) program IoT initiative!
Having seen what Xped had to offer - and comparing that with at least 9 other start-ups nominated for consideration under the PACT initiative - they jumped at Xped.
That is huge!
And, based on recent ASX announcements, appears to be going to plan from both Xped's and Intel's points of view.
