As neighbours when they first arrived, we assisted them in a number of ways, .... took them shopping, helped them generally, attended their annual get togethers, attended weddings, met a lot of their community, they helped me sometimes, and we watched them slowly develop, learn English and then eventually buy their own houses, 2 families that were renting nearby.
