It was mainly about getting back to the word of god and getting rid of the made made institutions and interpretations of the word of god,the bible was never to be read literally unlike the Koran.
Anyone can lift a quote or misquote from the bible to try to prove their point but if you must quote passages from the bible you need to have some understanding about the bible and that it moved on during the middle ages,Islam has not reformed and will not reform but will remain stuck in the middle ages with their warped morals and inconsistent views on them selves as well as anyone who is not Muslim .

There are extreme elements of Western Religion that chose to adhere to many unsavoury parts of the bible.
- just as there are extreme elements of the Islamic religion that literally manipulate the Quoran to support their actions.
