broome knowledge and insider trading - where's the Broome

I (and my associates) all used legitimate public resources to gain this knowledge, which we have kept under our hats for several months.

You used public resources. One point to you

So, if you guys can help, I have a couple more questions - with the knowledge that I gained this info from my own research and from public sources:

Is it insider trading if I tell others this info?

    Snooker

Definately NOT INSIDER TRADING as anyone else could have done the same. The information was there. You just put the info into perspective.

You can tell whom ever you wish. That's another point to you.

Surely the results of personal research through legitimate sources and telling my mates is not insider trading?

Do I have to tell the ASX that I have knowledge about a listed company that is price sensitive?

    Snooker

You have to tell the ASX nothing.

Now go and either buy/sell the shares. If you're smart you do it first, then tell everyone else.

If the shares keep on going up, they'll think the sun shines out of your arse.

If the stocks go down and you've sold out first, make sure it's a stock that you can short........legally.

Just don't make up any rumours. If queried, simply demonstrate your sources and why you arrived at the conclusions that you did.......If you invented info....or started false rumours, you could land up in strife....but if you did not.......then it's KOSHER and you laugh all the way to the bank!
