who knows but regardless of tax benefits or different avenues of commercialisation no one as a rule of thumb gives away something of value for nothing
.and even if they got something for it they would no doubt be able to claim significant tax benefits provided that what they received didn't exceed their total expenditure on the program i would have thought .
